New Year's Eve in Kochi means the free Cochin Carnival in Fort Kochi, the crowd on Marine Drive, hotel dinners, and the ticketed Grand Carnival at Bolgatty Palace.
Grand Carnival Kochi 2026 has Thaikkudam Bridge live. Gates 4 pm, show 6 pm, on past midnight.
What happens in Kochi on 31 December
The Cochin Carnival fills Fort Kochi. It is free, it has run since 1984, and at midnight the Pappanji is burnt at Parade Ground.
Marine Drive fills with people along the waterfront.
Hotels across the city run New Year dinners and parties.

5,500 tickets in all. Nobody gets in past that.
Thaikkudam Bridge play live. Gates 4 pm, show 6 pm.

For a sit-down dinner, book a hotel.
For a live band and a ground with a fixed number of people, come to Bolgatty.
Getting home after midnight
Kochi Water Metro stops at Bolgatty. Check the last boat for 31 December with Water Metro before you set out.
Cabs and autos reach Bolgatty over the Goshree bridge. After midnight, expect to wait.
Sort out your ride back before you come in.
